Apologies in advance to my friends who subscribe to this blog. I realize a daily account of my “sheltering in place” is not the most exciting or thrilling thing to read. But these are unprecedented times and I’m here to document it. As much for myself and my memories as anything. But if you are a regular reader here, what would you like to see in these posts? Recipes? How To’s? Home Decor? Ways to stay sane during the Corona-pocalypse 2020? Leave me a comment and let me know and I’ll work on that kind of content.
Day 3 was not my favorite day. I woke up with a tension headache. Unfortunately I clench my jaws at night when I’m stressed and it leads to the occasional headache. I’ve been trying everything I can to avoid NSAID pills because I think we rely too heavily on them and they’re really not good for us. Let me take this opportunity to say – I’m not totally against Western medicine. I believe it’s excellent and has done wonders for quality of life across the globe. However, I think we should heal our bodies as much as possible instead of take pills to mask symptoms. So to combat my headache I tried drinking extra water and taking a nap.
I ate lunch outside in the sun and drank a Nuun Immunity. Really loving some of the different Nuun tablets. Specifically the immunity tablet and the rest tablet. They’re on sale this week, I believe, if you’re in the market to try something new during this lockdown. Here’s their website. The immunity is sold out right now though, not surprising!
Decided to take a little drive to get out of the house. I ended up in my favorite 2500 Acre “neighborhood” called Sandestin. Excellent walking trails. Took the 3 mile loop then opted to drive to the beach to catch the sunset. There was a really cool c-130 aircraft doing military training along the beach (perks of living near an airforce base) and it was fun to watch.
That’s pretty much the extent of my day. It was completely uneventful but the sunset was so spectacular that it made the whole day seem somehow more fabulous. Pro tip… people always jet off after the actual sun sets… but the BEST colors come in the next 20-30 minutes after it dips below the horizon if there are some scattered clouds. What a good way to end the Winter season. God was telling us something last night.
On to the next one.
Stay healthy,
Stacey
