I am feeling the whole, self-care thing this week after all that physical labor over at the project house. So here we go, these are the most loved items in my house this week that you can purchase online. Click the photo above and you can shop them all on Amazon.
Bath salts
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you’ve probably heard me say that I take a bath almost every night. It’s become the best part of my day. It just feels so good to soak in that hot water for a while – even if only for a few minutes. Because of that, item number one on my list this week is the Amazon Basics Brand Epsom Salts. I have these on autoship once a month and I alternate months between the lavender and the eucalyptus scents. Click here to check those out.
Book of the Month Club
Next up, a good book. That is a MUST when you’re trying to relax in a bath. I’ve kind of made it a point that I do not even take my phone into the bathroom with me during bath time. It’s a time to decompress and unplug and that usually means I’m reaching for a good book. I have seriously enjoyed the Book of the Month Club (click here to check it out). It’s cheaper than buying a book at the store, it comes right to your home with a bookmark and sometimes the have early release titles that you can’t get anywhere else. You can skip a month at any time and you can also add past BOM books if you’d like an extra title. Click HERE and get your first book for only $9.99.
I just finished The Paris Hours and it had me the entire time. Reeled me right in. It’s about a set of people leading separate lives in Paris. We don’t know how they all connect for most of the book but they all converge at the end with very inter-connected lives and it’s SO GOOD! The ending is also one that doesn’t tie the whole thing up with a neat bow… you’re sort of left wondering which direction it will all go and I love that. I’ve linked that book up in the Amazon store.
Veggie Prep Containers
Fell in love with these veggie prep containers this week. They are keeping my fridge and my veg nice and fresh and organized! I love that the recommendations for different types of fruits and veggies are printed on the top of each container. Some need air flow, some need extra moisture and these containers allow you and remind you how to do both. I have the large lettuce container as well as 2 of the middle size and 1 of the small snack size.
Packing a Lunch
This week was all about what I called the healthy adult lunchable. I used the veggies that I pre-prepared over the weekend to build my lunch around. It consisted of about 1-1.5 cups of raw “dipping” veggies, a little impromptu veggie dip I created, some dill pickles, sliced turkey lunch meat and then either a bag of Simple Mills Paleo Crackers or a few squares of quality chocolate. I’ve linked those items into the Amazon Favorites list for this week and if you want my easy veggie dip, here it is: 1 Tbs avocado oil mayo and 1 tsp of spicy seedy mustard – that’s it! So simple but made a great veggie dip and also was good for dipping the turkey into. I used the compartmentalized containers to keep the whole thing neat and tidy.
Mushroom Snacks
You can officially buy these online and if you like mushrooms or just delicious snacks in general, give these a shot. I found them at Costco this week but they’re also on Amazon! They are salty but also a little sweet.
Foot Mask
I love, love, love a good foot mask and find myself reaching for one about every week. It’s much cheaper than going to get a pedicure – which I don’t have time for right now anyway. These Aveeno foot masks are bomb.com and leave your barkin’ dogs feeling refreshed.
All the coffee
I found myself reaching for more caffeine than normal this week. Loving the Crave brand coffee cups. The flavors are great and the price is even better! I also use Nutpods, caramel was the flavor of the week and it makes for a great afternoon iced latte when you combine some chilled coffee with a 1/4 cup of Caramel nut pods and a few drops of stevia. So tasty and no carbs and hardly any calories compared to it’s ‘spensive Starbucks cousin.
That’s all I have for you this week! Enjoy! If you end up trying any of these things, let me know! I’d love to hear how you liked them. I spent most of my days over at the project cottage painting, filling nail holes, caulking cracks, painting doors and tearing out carpet and staples. I’m definitely not used to that level of physical labor but it feels good and is satisfying work. I’m really enjoying the project. Next up over there is to work on the kitchen this week(painting cabinets and resurfacing the countertops), tidy up those pretty wood floors and clean windows. But today I’m taking some time off to go have brunch with some friends and enjoy time at the lake this afternoon.
Cheers!
