I should be on my way to the store right now to get a few things. Because, y’all, in slightly over 24 hours our social worker arrives for our final Homestudy appointment and we have STUFF TO DO. For example:
- I need a couple plants for the new flower bed we dug around the mailbox. I’ve been looking for more Russian sage to make all my mailbox dreams come true but it appears to be sold out everywhere. If you see some… lemme know.
- Purchasing Bayer Mosquito Yard/Landscaping spray. If you have a mosquito problem (If you don’t, where do you live and can I move next to you?!) you need to familiarize yourself with this stuff. It’s in a blue bottle and is super easy to apply to your lawn and takes the situation from “Oh my gosh I just slapped myself in the eye, AGAIN” to “Would you like another cup of coffee on the patio, honey?” Translation, it super-duper works. And if you know me I’m very ANTI-chemicals, but in this case, just buy the blue bottle and thank me later.
- Rearrange the furniture. Because I know there’s a better way. And my Mother-In-Law told me that whenever things are rough, if you rearrange your furniture it revitalizes you. And I trust her, she’s smart and has been around long enough to know stuff like this.
- The garage fridge needs help. SO. Apparently when I went South to close on a listing and then sell another one in March, my hubby forgot to eat the food I prepared for him and left in the garage fridge. A few weeks ago I noticed a BLACK substance leaking out the bottom of it and was like, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?! I opened the freezer because it seemed safer and holy smokes, something smells. Dave was braver then I, and opened the fridge side and found the deviled eggs I left him, some raw chicken and ham sandwiches. He immediately shut the fridge and we’ve been stepping over the black goo ever since. But today is the day. I have to open that thing and clean it out. If you don’t hear from me again, you’ll know what got me. Killer fridge stench.
Annnnyway… despite my to-do list for today, we are feeling so excited for our Homestudy to be almost done. I spent 5 hours the other day making copies of all the documents we’ve had to compile and it’s almost 2 inches thick. Lots of stuff. Lots of stuff. We still have appointments for the medical exams but those couldn’t happen until the 15th of July. Pretty disappointed that they were scheduled that far into the future because it will hold up our Homestudy by a couple extra weeks.
And when you think about it, the likelihood that our little girl is already born and is out there, waiting on us is pretty strong. So, two weeks feels like two weeks too many that we don’t get to know her and kiss her little cheeks.
But, we press onward. Every day is one day closer to little miss Miller!
Now, let me at that fridge…
