I was very determined this year to come up with my own plan for our Christmas tree at the Citrus House property, so I landed on a linen bow christmas tree decor scheme. If you are a fan of bow christmas trees, this one is for you.
In case you haven’t seen the property listing, I’ll link it HERE for you. It’s on Airbnb and just continues to amaze me with the amount of bookings it receives. Y’all like the Citrus House, and I’m so glad! We have families in and out the entire month of December and I was feeling some pressure to leave a little holiday cheer for them.
Which is why, once we put it up, this tree sat here for a few days with nothing but lights on it. All our tree ornaments were very traditional and “rustic”, so I didn’t want to use those this year. But then I had a vision of this tree with linen bows draped all over it and TA-DA, here ya go.
How I made the Bows
I highly recommend this easy, bow christmas tree DIY. I struggled to find linen ribbon to make bows here locally, so I found the closest thing and just ran with it. (But I have linked some up below for you that I found online.) I did use THIS TUTORIAL HERE for bow making. The alteration I made to her bow tutorial was I kept the string longer and then used it to tie the bow onto the tree. Her tutorial says she only used 10 yards of ribbon (I think), but I used 12. I also used 10 yards of the thinner ribbon to make the 10 drapey bows that I simply tied onto the tree, like you’d tie a shoelace.
