Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cloud Foam dupe recipe, coming right up. Reposting this from last year because rumor has it, the ole’ “big”bucks is out of pumpkin syrup. Until next year, my friend. Unless, you are feeling a little DIY. So here’s the recipe I came up with last year. Bonus, it’s slightly healthier for you (emphasis on the slightly). Enjoy.
Have you been to Starbucks lately? In case you haven’t heard, at Midnight on October 1st, everything turns into a pumpkin at Starbucks. No fairy godmother needed. And I’m here for it. I’ve consumed more coffees at Starbucks in the last few weeks than I have all year. I feel like I’m constantly reloading my Starbucks card so I figured it was time to figure out the whole ‘pumpkin cold foam’ thing for myself.
To start with, you don’t need any fancy equipment. Or supplies. Brew your favorite coffee or tea. If you’re going iced like I did, chill some in advance to get ready for this recipe. To make the cold foam, you need a smaller sized blender or else a handheld frother like this one below. I used a handheld because my blender is pretty wide and it would take a lot more milk in there to make it work, than I care to use. The handheld frother is absolute life anyway and you all need one. It’s budget friendly at under $20 and comes in an assortment of colors. Click HERE to shop.
If you were good this year, you can ask Santa for this frother linked HERE. It’s a little bit more bougie. This is the one I put on my 2020 Christmas list. (Mom, if you’re reading this… ah-hem.)
Here’s how to make the Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cloud Foam dupe:
I put a 1/4 cup of almond milk (any milk or cream will work), one drop of stevia, 1 teaspoon of pumpkin puree, and a teeny tiny splash of vanilla extract into a coffee cup, then went to work on it with the handheld frother. It foams up pretty quickly! Next up, you fill a tall glass with ice (or if you’re a pulling a full on Martha here, then you make ice cubes out of coffee ahead of time and use those – I did not. Sorry Martha.), add your chilled coffee then gently top with your cold foam and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice or plain cinnamon if you prefer.
I like my coffee unsweetened, so this is exactly how I made mine. But if you were really going for a Starbucks dupe, you need to add a couple pumps of vanilla syrup into your coffee before adding the foam on top. If you’re counting carbs and sugar, try SWOON syrup and a splash of vanilla extract. I’ve linked it up below. We absolutely love it! It’s got no carbs, calories or bad stuff in it!
That’s basically it. Tip it back and enjoy the fact that about 2 minutes and less than 50 cents worth of ingredients from home is all your fancy Fall drink cost you!
Cold foam is really a blank canvas. If you’re all about the salted cold cream foam at ‘the ‘bucks’ then just follow the recipe above but eliminate the pumpkin, add in a drop of Silver Cloud Estates Caramel Extract and a sprinkle of salt. Make sure the salt dissolves in the milk before you start foaming. You could swap out the stevia for your favorite sweetener – maple syrup would be tasty in this!
I received this frother last year in my Christmas stocking and have used it every day of my life since.
Below you can find my favorite brand of flavor extract with a few flavor options. This stuff is amazing and comes in so many flavor options, you won’t know which one(s) to choose. I used to purchase from them in bulk when I owned my bakery. Good stuff.
Quick Tip, put a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie tray. Then spoon out little 1 tsp dollops and pop the tray in the freezer. They’ll take about an hour to freeze, then you can put them all in a freezer bag or container and you’ll have them ready for the next time around!
So what do you think? Have you had the cold foam from Starbucks and become a total fan like me? What other product would you like to see a dupe or healthier version recipe?

This is great! And I love how you turn it into art. I almost wouldn’t have to actually drink it if I could get mine to look that pretty. 🙂
